Repoussé and Chasing Projects

Join me on the process of learning a new skill!

1st Project- Ivy Leaves for Viscounty Coronet for Tuathflaith

I have a full post on Tuathflaith’s coronet over on the coronet page, but the leaves for it were my introduction to a really fun new art form.

2nd Project- Leaves for Helga’s Laurel Scroll.

These were my contribution to a group project headed by Fabian. The end result was a metal laurel wreath used during Duchess Helga’s Laurel ceremony and as part of her non traditional skull scroll. I made four leaves, but ended up sending my three favorites for inclusion in the project.

3rd Project- Scythian My Little Pony

I found the cutest little elk in a book of Scythian art, it looks oddly reminiscent of a My Little Pony. The object was dated to the first half of the 4th century BCE (Piotrovskiĭ, B. B., Galanina, L. K., & Grach, N. L. (1987). Scythian art. Phaidon ; Aurora.), based on appearance, I’d guess the extant object was cast, but as there is quite a lot of repousse work in Scythian finds, I decided to use the design as my inspiration.
